Internet Archive Celebrates 20 Years

Internet Archive logoHard to believe a world without the Internet Archive which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. Brewster Kahle, Founder & Digital Librarian, is a real friend to libraries and gets their value. He and his team continue to think creatively about how to freely bring knowledge to the world and make available digital copies of books through the OpenLibrary as well as digitized versions of archival and other collections not easily accessible elsewhere if at all.

The Wayback Machine was just totally redone by Mark Graham and his team. If you haven’t looked at it lately, plug in a website and enjoy. I was on the Exploratorium web team in the mid to late 1990s and always get a kick using The Wayback Machine to see what it looked like back then.

When was the last time you played an arcade, coin-operated game? If you have a favorite from the 1970s through the 1990s, you’ll likely have fun on the Internet Arcade, no coins needed!

So check them out and make a donation! Think of all you’ll save playing virtual arcade games.
